Eddy Warman, PhD is a Research Director at Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division. In this role, he is responsible for innovation and strategic direction aimed at the chronic management of patients with cardiovascular diseases. With more than 20 yrs of experience in the Private Medical Industry, past projects include the development and testing of the atrial therapies in most Medtronic’s pacemakers, defibrillators and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy devices; use of impedance for HF monitoring, atrial fibrillation detection and management with Insertable Loop Recorders; and development of tools to reduce 30-day HF re-hospitalizations.
He is a Medtronic Technical Fellow and has been inducted into Medtronic’s prestigious Bakken Society (Medtronic highest technical recognition given to those who have made multiple, outstanding contributions to the Corporate technical and scientific progress). He has published more than 80 articles and abstracts, 2 book chapters, has more than 45 patents issued or pending. A native of Argentina, Dr Warman earned his MS in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (1985) and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (1992).
