Dr. Anthony McGoron, Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, has received the FIU Panther High Quality Course Design designation for the online course BME4311: Molecular Engineering. The course was recognized for meeting the High-Quality standards outlined in the state-wide 2025 Strategic Plan for Online Education.

The BME4311 Molecular Engineering course focuses on the technologies used to solve biomedical engineering problems at the cellular, subcellular and molecular levels. The course relies heavily on knowledge gained in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Cell Biology, Statistics, Modeling and Simulation.  Students successfully completing this course will develop knowledge of the technical concepts of molecular biology and bioinformatics and learn how that knowledge is utilized within modern biomedical engineering careers.
