Biomedical Engineering professor Dr. Mansour (see member profile) has been inducted as a Full Member into the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida (ASEMFL). Inductees are selected based on outstanding research contributions and innovations in the fields of science, engineering, or medicine. Full Membership is reserved for individuals who have achieved the highest recognition and impact in their field.
Dr. Mansour currently leads a team of researchers in the Mansour Lab, where they are developing innovative inhalation aerosols in the form of advanced microparticles and nanoparticles for treating airway and vascular diseases. Their research also focuses on lung surfactant-based multifunctional nanocarriers, noninvasive nose-to-brain therapeutic delivery, and biodegradable/biocompatible polymers for sustained-release delivery of peptides, proteins, and biologics. Their broader interests span advanced drug delivery systems, nanomedicine, and translational science. The lab’s therapeutic focus includes pulmonary and neuroinflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and oncology.
