The College of Engineering & Computing is excited to announce the recruitment of Dr. Mohammed Abdul Muneer to the Biomedical Engineering (BME) faculty, which will expand neuroscience-related research efforts within the BME Department. Dr. Muneer joined at the beginning of the Summer 2025 semester.
His research, conducted at the Muneer Laboratory, focuses on studying the underlying mechanisms of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and alcohol-mediated neurovascular inflammation and neurodegeneration, with the goal of developing effective therapeutic strategies to improve recovery from TBI or alcohol-induced neurological dysfunctions.
“I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across disciplines, mentoring the next generation of scientists and engineers, and contributing meaningfully to teaching and service,” said Dr. Muneer regarding future work at FIU.
