Biography

Ms. Delhy Arias recently joined FIU as Adjunct Professor of the Biomedical Engineering Program.  She earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Management from FIU.  Ms. Arias comes with extensive industry experience in the areas of Cell Culture, Tissue Banking, Tissue Processing, Quality Systems, and Regulatory Affairs.  She serves as Sr. Regulatory Affairs Manager at BioTissue Holdings Inc. for the past 15 years and has held other roles in Production and Quality Assurance.  She previously served BioHeart, Inc. where she researched and cultured myoblasts for clinical use.  Her undergraduate research experience focused on culturing C6 Astrocytes and endothelial cells for the development of an in-vitro blood-brain barrier model.

Ms. Arias is a member of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and serves as the Quality Council Representative to the AATB Accreditation Committee.  She contributed to the creation of tools for Quality Agreements and managing Change Control.  She is a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist under AATB, a Certified Quality Auditor and Certified Biomedical Device Auditor under the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
