Congratulations to Subrata Saha, courtesy professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University and affiliate professor at the University of Washington, on being awarded Fellow of Sigma Xi distinction as part of the inaugural cohort of Fellows at Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.

As an international research honor society for scientists and engineers, Sigma Xi has worldwide chapters that can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories and industry research centers.

The recognition of Fellow of Sigma Xi is awarded on a competitive basis to members with notable service and outstanding contributions to the scientific enterprise and who have been acknowledged by their peers. 

As one of 20 fellows selected, Saha will be recognized during Sigma Xi’s Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference for his distinguished contributions in biomedical engineering and bioethics; and for founding the Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference and the International Conference on Ethics in Biology, Engineering, and Medicine.
