Congratulations to Pratikkumar Shah! He has been awarded a “Dissertation Year Fellowship” from the University Graduate School for 2014-2015. Pratik is completing his doctorate under Dr. Chenzhong Li. The goal of his doctoral study is to develop live cell integrated lab-on-chip device for rapid analysis of nanoparticle toxicity in vitro.
The information that could be obtained from such a technology platform has high significance since information on toxicity engendered by nanoparticles on cellular function is not well understood. He has already published five peer-reviewed papers (three as first author), 2 conference proceeding papers and a book chapter. He has also presented his work both in oral and poster formats at numerous national and international meetings. Always supportive of other students, Pratik has previously served as an excellent Teaching Assistant.
