The People of Biomedical Engineering

The Biomedical Engineering Department at FIU is home to a world-class faculty. The members of our department are committed to excellence in research and to providing effective engineering solutions designed to address unmet biomedical needs. Our faculty members have extensive and diversified experience in all aspects of biomedical engineering and are keen on passing on these experiences to our students. Our research is focused on three primary areas which include engineered tissue model systems, diagnostic imaging and sensor systems, and therapeutic/reparative nanotechnology. Their primary goal is to provide the best biomedical education possible in South Florida to both our graduate and undergraduate students.
