Biomedical Engineering Specializations

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is changing people’s lives through translational research. Research conducted within the department is clustered into three major areas: Research in Tissue Engineering Model Systems, Diagnostic Bioimaging and Sensor Systems, and Therapeutic and Reparative Neurotechnology. These three areas are served by technological advancements in bio-imaging and bio-signal processing, bioinstrumentation, biomaterials, bio-nanotechnology, biophotonics, cellular and tissue engineering, computational modeling, devices, and sensors, and neural engineering.
